A Grok spicy mode alternative: uncensored adult images and clips with no mode to switch on
Searches for "Grok spicy mode" mostly ask two things: what the mode is, and how to turn it on in Grok Imagine. The answer xAI gives in writing is thinner than the search volume suggests. None of the xAI documents we read on 15 October 2026 uses the word "spicy", and in the one test we ran before 1 October 2026, Grok Imagine refused our explicit prompts. Vellria, an uncensored engine for images and video, permits fictional adult scenes under its terms, so there is no hidden setting to hunt for. Grok spicy mode: the reports and xAI's own documents
In press coverage, "Spicy" was the name given to one Grok Imagine video mode. Tom's Guide reported on 5 August 2025 that Imagine's videos came in four modes, Custom, Normal, Fun and Spicy, and TechRadar reported on 7 August 2025 that Imagine, spicy mode included, was rolling out to paying SuperGrok and Premium+ subscribers. That is reporting from the time, not a statement by xAI, and the plan names it used have since changed.
xAI's own documents are where we looked for a current answer, and on 15 October 2026 they did not give one. The Acceptable Use Policy, the consumer Terms of Service, x.ai/pricing, the Imagine API page, the safety page, the Grok FAQ on docs.x.ai and seven Imagine announcement posts on x.ai: none of them, as read that day, contains the word "spicy". That is a finding about those pages only. It does not show that the mode exists today, and it does not show that it was withdrawn.
The only first-hand evidence on this page is our own test. Before writing it we asked Grok Imagine for explicit scenes between adults and it refused; that run finished before 1 October 2026, covered one account and one point in time, and may not match what you see.

How to turn on Grok spicy mode: where the answer lives
Many visitors arrive asking how to enable, use or get spicy mode. This page gives no steps for switching on, using or getting around any Grok mode or filter, and xAI's Acceptable Use Policy itself prohibits circumventing safeguards without its written consent, along with jailbreaking and adversarial prompting. What we can point to is what xAI publishes about access.
The x.ai/pricing comparison table we read on 15 October 2026 marks image generation in Imagine as "Limited" on the entry tier and included from Plus upward, while video generation is included only from Premium upward. Nothing in that table singles out an explicit or "spicy" setting. Since 12 October 2026 the tiers belong to The X Subscription, which bundles Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium, and xAI says existing SuperGrok and X Premium subscribers keep their plans. Usage comes from one weekly pool shared by Chat, Imagine, Voice and Bot. For anything about Imagine's modes, xAI's pricing page and the Grok FAQ on docs.x.ai are the sources to check.
Is Grok spicy mode gone?
We cannot say, and neither can xAI's published pages as we read them on 15 October 2026, since they do not mention the mode at all. Bloomberg reported on 9 January 2026 that image generation on X had been limited to paid users, while the standalone Grok app still allowed it without a subscription at the time. A report about a moment is not a description of today.

Spicy mode for uploaded images, and real people
Part of the search interest is about applying spicy mode to an uploaded photo. On real people, xAI's Acceptable Use Policy, effective 14 August 2026 and reread on 15 October 2026, is direct: it prohibits "altering a real person's image or likeness to depict them in an intimate or sexual context", bans "deceptively impersonating a real person" and rules out depicting people's likenesses in an X-rated way. It also prohibits "sexualizing or exploiting children" and says xAI reports suspected child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Where Grok Imagine is the stronger pick
Grok Imagine lives where many people already are: on grok.com/imagine, in the Grok apps for iOS and Android, and through the Grok tab on X, which share one usage pool. Developers reach it with a key from console.x.ai. The models list on docs.x.ai names three image models, grok-imagine-image, grok-imagine-image-quality and grok-imagine-image-2.0, and three video models, grok-imagine-video, grok-imagine-video-1.5 and grok-imagine-video-1.5-lite, recommending Image 2.0 and Video 1.5. The Imagine API page says clips run up to 15 seconds at up to 1080p with generated audio, and a request can return up to 10 images.
xAI's developer docs describe the billing shape plainly: a flat price per image whatever the prompt length, edits billed for both the input and output image, and video priced per second, with duration and resolution both affecting the total. The API FAQ says all generated images and videos go through automatic content moderation, and the Grok FAQ adds that images and videos made in Grok carry a Grok watermark, with no setting to remove it. Vellria hosts none of these models, and no output comparison appears here; if your work stays inside xAI's policy, Grok Imagine remains a reasonable place to stay.
