A Promptchan alternative for generation, in the browser or through an API

The structural gap that separates a generation buyer from a companion app lands on video, and it is placement: full-length AI video, including extend, is part of Promptchan's top plan, per its own pricing FAQ, so reaching it means being on that plan. On Vellria no tier stands between you and a medium. Video models are listed in the same catalog as image models and paid from the same credits, and a clip's length is picked within the range its model supports. Promptchan has a published API. It authenticates with an x-api-key header, covers image, chat and asynchronous video endpoints, and bills in the same Gems the interface spends. Wanting an API is not, on its own, a reason to move.

The difference is narrower and it is about input. Read on 11 September 2026, Promptchan's published API reference (version 1.22) lists no reference-image or init-image parameter on its image or video endpoints, and its video tutorial (29 June 2026) starts image-to-video from an image already on the platform: one generated on its Create page, or taken from its public Explore feed. That describes their documentation on that date, not their logged-in interface, which we never saw.

Vellria splits that job into two calls. The file goes to an uploads endpoint, which answers with a URL, and the generation request names that URL next to the prompt. Every model in the catalog has a text mode and a reference mode under one id: a request without references runs the text mode, and one that carries references runs the reference mode, so an attached file is never silently dropped. Promptchan sells monthly subscription tiers alongside a separate consumable currency called Gems, which its own pricing FAQ describes as the credits generations spend. Vellria sells only something like the second half by default: a balance you fund ahead, with no required tier above it and nothing waiting on a renewal date unless you choose one of its two optional monthly plans. Each run draws on it as it starts, and a run the provider fails hands its credits straight back.

Promptchan accepts cryptocurrency through NOWPayments, and its refund policy states that all cryptocurrency transactions are final and non-refundable. Vellria's top-ups go through a checkout its payment partner hosts, where you choose a card or whichever other option is offered in your region, and the method has no bearing on refunds afterwards: credits you have not used can be claimed back from the Support page in the console, with each claim looked at individually.

In Promptchan's public gallery mode, its Terms grant Promptchan a perpetual, irrevocable, and transferable licence over user content and grant every other user a licence as well; its private mode clause states they do not assert rights, and private generation is a paid-plan feature. Vellria publishes nothing to a gallery and offers no mode to choose: a generation can be opened from the account that made it. Our privacy policy names the one exception, which is that the administrator running the service may open generation records, prompts and outputs to look into abuse or settle account and payment problems.
