A ChatGPT NSFW image alternative for the erotic pictures OpenAI's Model Spec rules out

Can ChatGPT make NSFW images? OpenAI's own documents answer that, and the short version is no outside narrow contexts. Its Model Spec says its models should not produce erotica unless the context is scientific, historical, news, artistic or similar, and it applies that to visual output too, while the image guide for its API says every prompt and every generated image is filtered against OpenAI's content policy. What OpenAI's documents say about sexual images

We read OpenAI's documents on 14 October 2026. The Usage Policies, effective 29 October 2025, are the rules for anyone using its services, and their sexual items are specific: they forbid sexual violence and non-consensual intimate content, say the services must never be used to exploit, endanger or sexualize anyone under 18, and rule out using a person's likeness, a photorealistic image included, without consent in ways that could confuse authenticity. The copy we read contained no general ban on sexual content between adults.

The broader line comes from the Model Spec, in the version dated 18 August 2026. Its section on erotica and gore says the assistant should not generate erotica, depictions of illegal or non-consensual sexual activity, or extreme gore, except in scientific, historical, news, artistic or other suitable contexts, and it applies that to visual content as well as text and audio. The same document says OpenAI is exploring how to let developers and users generate erotica in age-appropriate contexts through the API and ChatGPT.

Looking for a way past ChatGPT's NSFW image filter?

Some visitors arrive after searching for how to bypass the ChatGPT NSFW image filter, or for ChatGPT uncensored prompts. We do not describe a method, and none is tested here. OpenAI's image guide says a request its filter catches comes back as a moderation_blocked error.

Vellria removes the reason to look. Its terms allow explicit pictures of made-up adults, and a prompt goes to the image model as you typed it, with no rewriting step of ours in the middle; each provider still applies a filter of its own.

GPT Image in the API, and the marks on its output

Developers reach OpenAI's image models directly. On 14 October 2026 OpenAI's pricing page listed gpt-image-2.5-sunburst, gpt-image-2.5-flare, gpt-image-2, gpt-image-1.5, gpt-image-1-mini and gpt-image-1, and charges image output by the token at a rate set by model. The image guide says these models may require API Organization Verification first, offers 1024x1024, 1536x1024 and 1024x1536 as standard sizes, and lets newer models take custom dimensions.

The guide also documents a moderation parameter with two values: auto, the default, which applies standard filtering meant to limit certain categories of potentially age-inappropriate content, and low, described only as less restrictive filtering. It does not spell out what low permits, and this page makes no claim about it.

OpenAI's help article on provenance signals, read the same day, says images generated with ChatGPT, Codex or the OpenAI API carry both Content Credentials and a SynthID watermark, with an exception for API output from models planned for imminent deprecation, gpt-image-1 and gpt-image-1.5 among them. None of OpenAI's models runs on Vellria, and output quality is not compared on this page; when your images fit OpenAI's rules, GPT Image remains a sensible choice.

Not as a general rule.
