Alternatives
A Venice AI alternative for image and video, and where the conditions attach
Yes: Vellria is an image and video generation platform where you buy prepaid credits, spend them from the console or over the API against that same balance, and generate adult content on any account without a plan tier attached to it. It is also far narrower than Venice AI, which covers text, images, video, code, audio and search, so if you want one account across all of those, this is not offering you a replacement.
Start with what this does not replace
Venice AI covers text, images, video, code, audio and search. Vellria covers image and video generation and nothing else. If what you want is one account that also answers questions, writes code and searches the web, this is not a replacement.
The API is not the difference either. Venice publishes a REST API at api.venice.ai/api/v1 that authenticates with Bearer tokens and includes an OpenAI-compatible chat endpoint, and its image endpoints take reference images: the edit endpoint works from a source image, and the generate endpoint accepts style reference images. If you are shopping for an API or reference-image support, both have one. What differs is what is attached to using them.

Which capability carries which condition
Everything this page says about Venice was read from Venice's own FAQ, pricing table and API reference on 31 August 2026. These are conditions Venice documents itself, and those pages are theirs to change.
Adult image generation is tier-shaped. Venice's pricing comparison table marks NSFW image generation as unavailable on the free tier and available on paid tiers, and its FAQ states that disabling the Mature Filter requires a Pro plan or higher. Removing the watermark from generated images, per the same FAQ, also requires Pro or higher.
The API carries conditions of its own on top of the plan. Venice's FAQ states that API usage is metered separately, and that "Paid plans do not include unlimited API usage." On its image API, the safe_mode parameter defaults to true, which blurs images classified as having adult content, and responses carry x-venice-is-blurred and x-venice-is-content-violation headers, so a blurred result is signalled in the response rather than only visible in the file.
None of this is buried; Venice writes all of it down. The point is that separate capabilities carry separate conditions, and it is worth knowing which attaches where before your code depends on one.
One balance, and what comes off it
Vellria has no plans and no tiers. You buy prepaid credits, and the same balance is what the console spends and what an API key spends, so there is no second meter for programmatic use and no monthly floor under it. Nothing renews, so an idle month costs nothing.
Credits come off when a generation starts rather than when it finishes, because the work is commissioned at the front. If the run fails at the provider, those credits return to your balance the moment it is marked failed, with no support request, and the failed run and the refund both stay in your history.
What a run costs is a property of the model, not of this page. Each model page carries its own valid sizes and the credit cost of each, read from the server as the page loads, and the pricing page lists the catalog from the same source the server bills from. Files come back as the model rendered them, with nothing added by us to mark them. Adult generation is not a switch or a tier here, it is how every account works, and the refusals that remain are the prohibited categories: anyone under age, and real people used without consent, checked before a run starts and therefore before credits are taken. The API docs show the request shape.
Paying, and where the crypto lines fall
Both platforms take crypto, with different shapes around it. Venice's FAQ states that it "does not broadly accept crypto for all purchases": credits can be bought with USD or USDC, and for subscriptions BTC is accepted through BTCPay for yearly plans. Which crypto applies depends on what you are buying, and for subscriptions on the billing period too.
Vellria has one thing to buy. You top up credits with a crypto transfer, the balance rises once the network confirms, and that is the whole payment surface: no plan behind it, nothing separate for API access. The payment address, and the memo or tag on networks that need one, stay on the payment record rather than in a notification, so refreshing the page does not lose them.
Frequently asked questions
Is Vellria a drop-in replacement for Venice AI?
No. Venice covers text, images, video, code, audio and search; Vellria covers image and video generation. If you are replacing a general-purpose assistant, this leaves most of it uncovered. If the part you actually use is image and video over an API, that is where the two overlap.
Does Venice AI have an API and reference images?
Both, so neither is a gap you would be moving to fill. Venice publishes a REST API at api.venice.ai/api/v1 using Bearer tokens, including an OpenAI-compatible chat endpoint, and its image edit endpoint takes a source image while its generate endpoint accepts style reference images. What differs is metering: their FAQ states API usage is metered separately, where a Vellria key spends the same prepaid balance the console does.
Do I need a plan to generate adult content?
Not here, because there are no plans. On Venice, read on 31 August 2026, the pricing comparison table marks NSFW image generation as unavailable on the free tier and available on paid tiers, and their FAQ states that disabling the Mature Filter requires a Pro plan or higher. On Vellria there is no tier and no toggle, and the only refusals are the prohibited categories, which apply to every account alike.
Will my images come back watermarked or blurred?
Vellria adds nothing to a file; it is stored as the model rendered it. On Venice, per their FAQ read on 31 August 2026, removing the watermark requires a Pro plan or higher, and on their image API the safe_mode parameter defaults to true, which blurs images classified as having adult content, with x-venice-is-blurred and x-venice-is-content-violation headers on the response.
