Alternatives
A Candy AI alternative for commercial use and programmatic access
Yes, if what you need is generation you can call from your own code and use in paid work: Vellria is a catalog of image and video models you run from a model's own page or over a REST API, billed in prepaid credits with no subscription. It is not a companion app, so if chat, a character, voice or roleplay is the part you actually use, nothing here replaces it.
Start with what this is not
Vellria is a generation engine. You send a prompt and settings, it returns a file. There is no chat, no character that remembers you between sessions, no voice and no roleplay memory. Most people searching for an alternative to Candy AI want exactly those things, and if you are one of them, the rest of this page will not change that.
Two more are ours to admit. Top-ups here are made in cryptocurrency and that is the only route in, while Candy AI's homepage names BTC, ETH, USDC and Litecoin alongside cards, so payment rails count against us rather than for us. Generated files are also held for a limited retention window and then removed from the server, so anything you intend to keep has to be downloaded.

What their terms say about the thing you made
Everything this page says about Candy AI was read from Candy AI's own Terms, refund terms, community guidelines and homepage on 31 August 2026; those are their documents to change. Candy AI is a live, maintained product: its sitemap index was regenerated on 31 August 2026 across thirteen locale sitemaps. The question here is narrower than whether it works. It is whether you are permitted to do what you planned with the output.
Read on 31 August 2026, Candy AI's Terms of Service state that "Our Services are intended and made available for personal, non-commercial use only", and expressly prohibit using the platform, the account, or any content generated on it "for commercial purposes of any kind". A separate clause prohibits using generated content "in connection with off-platform artificial intelligence or machine learning technologies, whether or not for commercial purposes". The Terms also grant Candy AI a "perpetual", "sub-licensable", worldwide licence over user content.
That is a clause rather than a filter, and no setting turns it off. If your plan was a client deliverable, a product asset, a monetised upload or a set to train on, the document answers before anything else does. Our terms take the other position in one sentence: rights in the content you generate belong to you to the extent applicable law permits, and Vellria claims no right over it beyond providing the service.
Calling it from your own code
On 31 August 2026 there was no publicly documented Candy AI API to build against: docs.candy.ai and developers.candy.ai did not resolve, and /api, /api/v1 and /developers redirected to the homepage. Their community guidelines separately prohibit accessing the service or creating accounts "using methods other than publicly supported interfaces", which closes the usual workaround as a matter of policy rather than of engineering.
Here the API is the same product as the site. You create a key in the console and send it as a Bearer token, and the whole catalog answers to one shape of request: a model id, a prompt, and the settings that model accepts. Generation is asynchronous, so you start a run and poll the record it returns until it reaches a terminal state; closing the tab does not lose the job.
Read the catalog endpoint rather than copying values into your code. It is the same source the model pages and the pricing table render from, so a cost that changes on the server changes for you at the same moment. The API documentation carries the request shapes.
How the money is structured
Candy AI is a subscription. Its Terms describe a monthly amount of tokens disclosed to you during checkout, which pay for extended features such as image generation, and state that remaining tokens "will expire and become unusable" at the end of the billing period and "will not carry over or be refunded". Its refund terms, as published on 31 August 2026, allow a request within 24 hours of payment, deny it once more than 20 tokens have been used, and state "We can only refund subscriptions that were purchased via card."
Vellria has no plan and nothing renews. You buy credits up front, the balance rises when the network confirms the top-up, and it falls only when you start a generation. Our terms set no expiry on a balance, so an idle month costs nothing and leaves nothing behind. If a run ends in an error from the provider, the credits taken at the start return automatically the moment it is marked failed, with no request to file.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use what I generate here commercially?
Our terms state that rights in the content you generate belong to you to the extent applicable law permits, and that Vellria claims no right over it beyond providing the service. Two caveats are ours: no warranty is given that an output is original or clear of third-party rights, and you remain responsible for the lawfulness of what you generate and what you do with it.
Does Candy AI have an API I could build on instead?
None was publicly documented when we checked on 31 August 2026: docs.candy.ai and developers.candy.ai did not resolve, and /api, /api/v1 and /developers redirected to the homepage. Their community guidelines also prohibit accessing the service or creating accounts "using methods other than publicly supported interfaces". Both are their documents to change, so check the source before planning around either.
Can I chat with a character here?
No. There is no chat, no character that persists between sessions, no voice and no roleplay memory. Vellria takes a prompt and settings and returns an image or a video file, and every model in the catalog works that way.
Is this more permissive about what can be generated?
Not on the lines that matter, and this page will not grade anyone's content policy. Candy AI's blocked-content policy prohibits content resembling minors and non-consensual intimate imagery or deepfakes. Our terms prohibit the same categories and treat them as absolute: any depiction of a person who is not of age, and any real, recognisable person used without consent, public figures included. The rules page sets ours out in full.
