A Civitai alternative: one domain, one balance, one set of rules
If you are looking for a Civitai alternative, Vellria is an uncensored image and video generator where the adult work, the credits that pay for it and the terms that govern it all sit in one place, with nothing to move between. It is a generation engine rather than a community platform: there is no public feed, no profiles, no library of other people's work, and no way to upload or train a model of your own.
What this does not replace
Start with the mismatch, because it is cheaper to find out now than after a top-up. Vellria is a fixed catalog of image and video models you run from a model page or over an API. You cannot upload a model to it, train one on it, or browse what anyone else has made with it. There are no profiles, no comments and no feed.
None of that is a knock on where you are now. Everything this page says about Civitai was read from Civitai's own site and documents on 31 August 2026, and Civitai is actively maintained and shipping: site announcements dated 26 August 2026, articles published 30 August 2026. Their pages are theirs to change, so check the source before you rely on any of it.

What actually changed on 15 April 2026
On 15 April 2026 Civitai split into two front doors: civitai.com became the safe-for-work domain, and civitai.red became the domain where adult content lives. The split was announced by a Civitai co-founder in article 28369 on Civitai's own site.
The shorthand versions of this are wrong in both directions. Adult content was not banned, and the platform did not move to crypto only. The two were separated, and the separation is written into the terms. civitai.com's Terms of Service, last modified 26 August 2026, open their prohibited-content list with "Adult content and services", covering pornography and mature-audience content depicting nudity or explicit sexual acts. civitai.red serves a different Terms of Service document from the same path, and that clause is absent from that document; its prohibited list opens instead with real-person likenesses and minors. Both documents were read on 31 August 2026, and either can change.
The reason given was payment. Civitai's own announcement states that it had lost every mainstream payment rail except crypto, and that walling mature content off on a separate domain was the condition for card processing returning to civitai.com. The residue for you is that the door you arrive at decides which document applies.
One balance, or colours of one
The split runs through the money as well. Civitai's credit currency, Buzz, is divided into colours that cannot be converted into one another: Green Buzz is bought with cards and stays tied to safe-for-work use, and Yellow Buzz is bought with crypto and lives on civitai.red. Credits are not the whole structure either. Civitai charges for generation in Buzz and separately sells monthly memberships, so it is credits plus an optional subscription rather than one or the other, and its FAQ states that memberships are only purchasable on civitai.com, answering "Not yet" to buying one on civitai.red with crypto.
Vellria has one balance. You top it up with crypto, the credits arrive once the network confirms, and they spend on any model in the catalog, image or video. Nothing renews and there is no plan to be on or off, so an idle month costs nothing. Credits come off when a generation starts and go back automatically if the run fails, with the failure and the refund both left in your history.
What a run costs belongs to the model rather than to this page: every model page states its own cost, and the pricing page lists the catalog in one table, both read from the source the server bills from.
Calling it from your own code
Both have an API, so this is not a gap you would be moving to fill. Civitai's model listing at civitai.com/api/v1/models answers without credentials, its generation (Orchestration) API requires an Authorization Bearer token, and it is documented at developer.civitai.com; that documentation covers video as well as images, including image-to-video and reference-to-video operations.
On Vellria the console issues a key you send as a Bearer token, and the whole catalog answers to one shape of request: a model id, a prompt, and the settings that model accepts. Generation is asynchronous, so you start a run and poll the record it returns until it reaches a terminal state, and closing the tab does not lose the job. Reference images upload to their own endpoint, and you pass the address you get back in the generation body. No. Vellria sells prepaid credits and nothing else: you top up with crypto, the balance rises when the network confirms, and it falls only when you start a generation. Civitai's structure is different, charging for generation in Buzz and separately selling monthly memberships, so credits and a subscription coexist there.
What do I give up by switching?
The community layer and anything built on it. Vellria has no public feed, no profiles and no shared library, and the catalog is fixed, so you run the models in it rather than adding your own. If your work depends on that, the split is not a good enough reason to leave; if you want one balance that spends anywhere, the catalog is where to start.
