A Promptchan alternative for generation work, with no chat and no characters
Vellria runs uncensored image and video models from a model's own page or a REST API, billed in prepaid credits with no subscription, and it has no companion chat, no characters, no voice and no roleplay memory. Promptchan's published API covers chat endpoints alongside image and video, so if that is the side you use, nothing here replaces it. If it is the generation you pay for, three structural differences are worth checking first: where full-length video sits in Promptchan's plans, what its own tutorial says about how long clips are kept, and what its published API reference lists as input.
What Vellria does not do
Vellria generates images and video, and that is the whole of it: no companion chat, no persistent character, no voice, no roleplay memory. Promptchan's published API covers chat endpoints alongside its image and video ones, so if the conversation is what you pay for, moving here costs you it outright.
This is also not a page about being more permissive. Promptchan's Terms prohibit AI-generated child sexual content and non-consensual deepfake content, and bar depiction or impersonation of celebrities, public figures or private individuals without consent. Those are our lines too: anyone not of age is refused outright, and so is a real, recognisable person used without consent, public figures included. The rules page sets ours out in full.
Everything this page says about Promptchan was read from Promptchan's own site and documents on 31 August 2026, and Promptchan is actively maintained: its refund policy was last updated 12 August 2026. If you got here from a dead link, that is the domain move rather than anything else: Promptchan went from promptchan.ai to promptchan.com, and the former no longer resolves.

Where video sits, and how long a clip stays
Two structural gaps separate a generation buyer from a companion app, and both land on video. The first is placement: full-length AI video, including extend, is part of Promptchan's top plan, per its own pricing FAQ, so reaching it means being on that plan. Here video models sit in the same catalog as image models and draw on the same balance.
The second is retention. Promptchan's own video tutorial states that clips are only kept for 24 hours unless you publish them, which couples keeping a clip to putting it in the public gallery.
The window here is not conditional on what you do afterwards. Every generation is held for the same limited retention window and then removed, and there is nothing to publish it to. Download what you mean to keep; the video page covers the rest.
What the two APIs take as input
Promptchan has a public API. It authenticates with an x-api-key header, covers image, chat and asynchronous video endpoints, and bills in the same Gems the interface spends. Wanting an API is not, on its own, a reason to move.
The difference is narrower and it is about input. Read on 31 August 2026, Promptchan's published API reference lists no reference-image or init-image parameter on its image or video endpoints, and its documented image-to-video path starts from an image already on the platform: one generated on its Create page, or taken from its public Explore feed. That describes their documentation on that date, not their logged-in interface, which we never saw.
Here reference images have their own endpoint: post the file, take the address back, pass it in the generation body. The catalog enforces the pairing both ways: a model built for references refuses a request without them, and a model that takes none refuses one that carries them rather than dropping your attachment and rendering anyway. What you buy, and what you keep
Promptchan sells monthly subscription tiers alongside a separate consumable currency called Gems, which its own FAQ describes as the credits generations spend. Vellria sells only the second half of that: prepaid credits, no plan, nothing renewing. Credits come off when a run starts and return if the provider fails it.
Crypto is not a difference between us. Promptchan accepts cryptocurrency through NOWPayments, and its refund policy states that all cryptocurrency transactions are final and non-refundable. An on-chain payment cannot be reversed here either, for the same reason; what you can do is ask for a refund of unused credits from the console, where requests are assessed individually.
In Promptchan's public gallery mode, its Terms grant Promptchan a perpetual, irrevocable, and transferable licence over user content and grant every other user a licence as well; its private mode clause states they do not assert rights, and private generation is a paid-plan feature. Here there is no gallery and no mode to pick: your generations are reachable only from your own account. The privacy policy states the one exception: the administrator operating the service can access generation records, prompts and outputs to monitor abuse and resolve account and payment issues.
